Growing Pains Physio

Helping kids grow with less pain and more confidence.
Every child experiences growth differently. Our approach is always individualised — whether your child complains of leg pain at night, discomfort during activity, or recurring aches that don’t seem to go away. Our physiotherapists use kid-friendly, evidence-based methods to manage growing pains and build strength and flexibility for the years ahead.

Common treatment techniques include:

  • Gentle manual therapy and soft tissue release
  • Stretching and mobility exercises
  • Strengthening for growing muscles and joints
  • Postural assessments and movement correction
  • Balance and coordination training
  • Footwear advice and orthotic recommendations if needed
  • Education for parents on activity modification and pain management
  • Monitoring of growth-related conditions like Osgood-Schlatter disease or Sever’s disease

Physio for Children and Adolescents

Growing pains are most common during periods of rapid development, typically between the ages of 8 and 14. Whether your child is active in sport or simply going through a big growth spurt, we can provide the support they need to stay active and pain-free.

We’ll also work closely with you as parents to provide advice on appropriate levels of activity, rest, and exercises that can be safely done at home.

Comfort, Movement, and Long-Term Health

At this important stage of life, the right support can make a big difference. Physiotherapy not only helps relieve pain — it also promotes healthy movement habits, reduces injury risk, and builds physical confidence for the future.

If you’re not sure whether physiotherapy is right for your child’s growing pains, feel free to reach out — we’re always happy to chat and offer guidance.
